Welcome to Baker University
As I walk across our historic campus, I am always reminded of the extraordinary vision and faith of our founders. In 1858, 13 Methodist ministers defied the odds and forged a university out of a rough Kansas prairie. They built their dream stone by stone, student by student, building upon building and now city after city as Baker’s vision forges partnerships across regional and international boundaries.
With more than 3,800 students at traditional and virtual campuses across Kansas and Missouri and an international partnership in England, Baker is dedicated to fostering critical thinking, teamwork, global awareness and a wise and compassionate understanding at every stage of the journey. It takes a devoted community to build strong skills.
At Baker University, education is personal. Our community is the bond that will connect you to lifelong friends and associates, to professors that mentor and inspire and to supportive staff ready to help at any hour of the day. Enriching campus activities, productive internships, career opportunities and international experiences are all a part of your education whether it is in Baldwin City, Kansas City, Topeka or Wichita. Let your mind soar and confidence fly as you build the knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to our world.
Our hope is to be part of your journey toward a degree. Stop by the Baldwin City campus and take a stroll beneath the giant Catalpas in our arboretum or sit under the grape arbor while gazing at Parmenter Hall, one of Abraham Lincoln’s great legacies to Kansas. Or just give us a call so we can help you start on the next great chapter of your life.
This is where it all begins. So, let’s change the world. Let’s make a difference. Let’s shape the future. And let’s do it together — with confidence.
