Archives
Baker University Archives serves as the repository for the records of the University, the local community, and the Kansas East Conference of the Methodist Church. Additionally, the Archives maintains a small, but well-chosen collection of writings and documents relating to Territorial Kansas through 1920.
Old Castle Museum
The Old Castle Museum houses artifacts from early Kansas, Methodist, and Baker history. Next to Old Castle is the Kibbee Cabin. The cabin played an intricate role in the creation of Baker University when a group of Methodist ministers gathered and decided to form a college in the town of Palmyra, which is now Baldwin City.Quayle Bible Collection
The Quayle Rare Bible Collection has been the subject of national attention and a source of a pride for the University. A 1925 gift from the estate of Bishop William A. Quayle, a Baker alumnus who later served as president, the collection resides in the Spencer Library Wing. Originally comprised of 250 Bibles, significant related works have been added. The collection includes such rare pieces as cuneiform tablets dating to 2000 BC and a leaf from the Gutenberg Bible as well as early Biblical manuscripts, early English Bibles and a collection of Bibles containing presidential signatures from Harry Truman to the present.
