Travel & Trips The final group of travellers
has just returned from our last scheudle trip abroad for 2007. Photos
will be posted here soon, so keep checking this page for more travel
and trips!
Go abroad with Baker! Find fun, friendship, and a fabulous
vacation as you travel. After many requests from our alumni community,
Baker began a travel program four years ago. Over the past four
years our alumni have vacationed in Mexico, Italy and Switzerland
and have "had the time of their lives!"
This year there are two trips that will be wonderful for fall
2007! Both trips are offered through the company we have contracted
with in the past, GoNext Travel, an expert in the field of group
travel:
Tuscany and Venice, September 14 - 22, 2007
Prague and Bavaria, October 12 - 20, 2007
More details about each appear below. To request a brochure, contact
the Office of Alumni and Community Relations, at 785-594-4528, toll-free
888-781-2586, fax 785-594-4589 or email alumni@bakeru.edu.
Each trip is nine days for the amazing price of $1,974. There
is flexibility in the origin of travel but most travelers will be
leaving out of Kansas City. All travelers will meet at the final
destination and a representative from Baker and Go Next will greet
them. From there the fun begins!
Deposit and Final Payment: A deposit of $200 per person is due
with your reservation application. Make your check payable to GO
Next. Full payment is required 75 days prior to departure. Any bookings
received within 75 days of initial flight departure are subject
to availability and must be accompanied with full payment.
Tuscany
and Venetian Treasures
September 14-22, 2007
It has been said if you're lucky enough to find yourself dining
at dusk on a terrace in Tuscany, you really can't ask for more.
And yet on this trip there is so much more. Go where the wine is
from a nearby vineyard, the olives are picked in the backyard and
the bread was made an hour ago, warm and crusty sitting next to
a hunk of velvety cheese. Go where a gondola ride is followed by
a trip to the fabled Harry's Bar, order a chilled cocktail and toast
the sunset. Choose a mask from thousands, feed the pigeons in St.
Mark's square, revel in the ancient glory and opulence of Venice.
And still, there is more. It will be very hard to choose the moment
you feel the luckiest.
Embrace Italy's diversity with stays in historic Chianciano, located
in the cypress-covered rolling hills of Tuscany, and in the cosmopolitan
resort of Lido di Jesolo on the Adriatic Sea. Savor the medieval
ambience of Chianciano's old hilltop center with its idyllic vistas,
and stroll the town's tree-lined streets flanked with fashionable
shops. Flourishing Lido di Jesolo, famous for its golden beach landscapes
and delightful Mediterranean breeze, is one of Italy's greatest
seaside resorts just a short distance from the enchantment of Venice.

Prague
and Fairy Tale Bavaria
October 12-20, 2007
From the land of Edelweiss and bratwurst to a fairy tale city of
spires and domes, this is a gorgeous journey through the heart of
Europe. Go where the Romantic Road takes you back in time, over
cobblestone streets and through medieval villages. Browse in quaint
little shops and enjoy a cozy tavern. Go where the roots of Bohemia
thrive in Prague, where Mozart and Kafka wandered, where the 14th
century Charles Bridge still teems with artists, puppeteers and
musicians. Go to Dresden and see museums, churches and the spectacular
Semper Opera House, and learn why they call this the "Florence of
the North."
Go where the little known scenic delights of northern Bavaria
beckon, to the world spa resort of Bad Kissingen. This resort with
a royal history is a treasure of gardens, parks, shops, outdoor
cafes, and museums, charming in the greatest sense of the word.
And who could resist a stay in Prague, one of the most beautiful
cities in Europe, an enchanting museum of the Middle Ages. Click
