As a private institution, Baker receives no public money for operational expenses from any government entity - state or federal. Therefore, Baker relies entirely on donations from alumni and friends of the University to sustain the quality of our academic programs, to ensure that the University continues to offer a rewarding and enriching student experience, and to maintain the tradition and rich history as the first university in the State of Kansas.
