Message from VP of Endowed and Planned Giving

Greetings from the most beautiful college campus in Kansas! I want to share news with you about our expanded web-based service called Crescendo. Crescendo provides access to the latest and greatest in the area of information about estate planning, changes in the tax law, current articles, and updated strategies for charitable giving and retirement information. The planned giving experts at Crescendo in California have designed a user-friendly service for Baker to offer to all its alumni, friends and donors.

In addition, take advantage of our planned giving calculator that allows you to calculate the effect of various types of planned gifts on your individual tax situation and your ultimate estate. Since the calculator is online, you can access it at any time, in the privacy of your own home or office. Users of this service will not be contacted unless you specifically request additional information.

Several years ago, Baker created the Pulliam Endowment Society. This special club honors all individuals or families who have made a current gift to the endowment or who have placed Baker in their estate plan. Pulliam Endowment Society members are currently responsible for over 527 named endowments that are being managed by professionals for Baker. We also have an additional 270+ individuals who have made a provision by listing Baker University as a beneficiary in their will or trust. Naturally, this information is held in the strictest confidence unless the donor specifically grants the University the right to utilize such information in any given form of publicity.

The endowments made possible by Pulliam Society members are used in a number of ways. The usage of an endowment is in most cases determined by the individual donor. Examples of ways Baker uses an endowment include: benefiting University students through scholarships and loans, supporting our faculty and academic departments and providing for programs/lectures/specific classes. In addition, the overall operation of the University is enhanced through unrestricted endowments that add significantly to annual operations.

I hope you will learn form the information that is being made available through this site. I look forward to working with you in the future!
