Game one saw the Pirates (16-15) jump out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but they wouldn’t end up scoring again until the sixth when they opened the game up with a four run inning to grab a 5-0 victory.
Baker tallied just four hits in the contest. Sean McAlister was pegged with the loss after throwing 5.1 innings, giving up seven hits and four earned runs. After giving up the lone run in the first inning, McAlister managed to bounce back with four innings of scoreless ball, before finally being pulled in the sixth. View game one box score.
Baker bounced back in game two with an 8-6 victory. The Wildcats scored five runs in the third inning, two runs in the fourth, and one in the fifth. Ryan Terstriep led the way offensively after clearing the bases with a towering triple to deep left center field in the third. Joshua Zach also had two RBI’s in contest.
Caleb Lee picked up the victory on the bump after pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs. View game two box score.
