BU softball has four named to first team all-HAAC squad

All-HAAC Squad

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Baker University softball team had four players named to the first team all-HAAC squad the league office announced on Friday afternoon.

Pitchers Erin Greenwood (Topeka, Kan.) and Maggie Holmberg (Topeka, Kan.) highlighted the Wildcat defense.

First baseman Summer Kelley (Shawnee, Kan.) and second baseman Brooke Allen (Topeka, Kan.) rounded out the BU squad. Allen was also awarded the Gold Glove for her stellar play at second base. Alexis Cox was awarded the Gold Glove for her play in the outfield.

Greenwood currently leads the team both offensively and defensively with a batting average of .394 and 29 RBIs to go along with a 13-8 record on the rubber. Holmberg currently leads the team with an ERA of 2.04, while posting a record of 9-9.

Brooke Allen continues to lead the Baker offense with a batting average of .383 while Summer Kelley has provided the muscle at the plate posting a team-high four home runs.

Outfielder Kayla Morse (Olathe, Kan.) was named to the second team while Renata Dill checked in as an honorable mention selection. View the full all-HAAC squad  here .

The Wildcats return to action in the HAAC semifinals on Friday at 3 p.m., against Evangel University at the Blue Valley Recreation Softball Complex.
