Maggie Holmberg picked up her fifth victory of the season, pitching five innings while giving up just three hits with six strikeouts.
Renata Dill sparked BU’s first run in game two with a single to short to open the sixth inning. After a groundout by Erin Greenwood, Summer Kelley singled to left to score Dill.
Evangel countered in the bottom half of the inning, and neither team would score again until extra innings in the ninth.
Summer Kelley opened with a single and Kayla Morse followed with a sacrifice bunt to move Kelley over to second. Alyse Menghini followed with a sacrifice bunt and reached safely, scoring Kelley on a wild throw from Evangel’s third baseman Shelby Hoffman.
Evangel (25-9, 6-4 HAAC) again had an answer in the bottom half of the inning thanks to a leadoff double by Kasey Spencer. After a passed ball, Spencer advanced to third and Samantha Clowdus followed with a sac fly to center to tie the game at 2-2.
Errors were the story in the 10th as Baker finally broke through to score three runs. Erin Greenwood picked up her eighth victory the season after pitching nine innings, while giving up five hits and two earned runs with 12 strikeouts.
Baker (14-9, 4-2 HAAC) returns to action on Apr. 7 when the Wildcats host Peru State College at 1 p.m.
