Evangel also took care of business on Wednesday, knocking off seventh-seeded Central Methodist University, 81-65 in their opening round playoff game.
Jordan Honore led all Baker scorers on Wednesday off the bench scoring a game-high 14 points with a 4-for-9 shooting performance from the field. Stephen Cotton led Evangel’s effort on Wednesday with 17 points on a 8-for-14 shooting performance.
Defense again will play a huge role in tonight’s contest as Evangel enters play ranked No. 10 nationally with a scoring defense of 63.2 points. Baker ranks No. 15 in that same category at 64.2 points. The Wildcats also hold down the No. 5 ranking in field goal defense at 38 percent.
“Coach Jenkins does a great job with those guys down there,” said Baker head coach Brett Ballard. “We’re going to need to shoot the ball well and try to get some fouls on their bigs in the paint early.”
