Second half shooting dooms Baker in 72-60 loss to Graceland
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker men’s basketball team dropped a key game in the HAAC race on Saturday afternoon, falling 72-60 to Graceland University.
Ben Steinlage finished as the only Wildcat in double figures with 15 points and nine rebounds. Joe Wachter and Jordan Honore each added eight points, while Kevin Lysaught and Todd Johnston each chipped in with seven.
Baker (18-9, 11-5 HAAC) only shot 11-for-32 from the field (34 percent) and 2-for-10 (20 percent) from beyond the arc in the second half. Overall, Baker finished the contest 22-for-60 (37 percent) from the field and 7-for-20 (35 percent) from 3-point land.
Graceland (17-10, 9-7 HAAC) finished the contest with three players in double figures with Chris Henderson leading the way with 15 points and six assists. Brad Burgus added 12 points and Alex Roth chipped in with 10.
The Yellowjackets finished the contest 26-for-60 (43 percent) from the field and 6-for-17 (35 percent) from beyond the arc.
The Wildcats return to action Feb. 23 when they travel to Benedictine College for a 7:30 p.m., in Atchison, Kan.
