BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men’s and women’s basketball teams return to action on Jan. 19 to face rival Benedictine College at 5:30 (women) and 7:30 p.m. (men) at the George F. Collins Center.

Story lines

v The Baker women’s basketball team will be attempting to snap a two-game losing skid after dropping contests at MidAmerica Nazarene and Graceland University last week.

v Junior Alisha Fanshier currently sits at 971 career points heading into tonight’s contest. Fanshier scored 699 career points while at Barton Community College and thus far has tallied 272 career points at Baker University.

v Senior Gloria Atanmo currently ranks fourth in the HAAC with 8.29 rebounds per game.

v The Benedictine women enter play riding a two-game winning streak with victories over Peru State College and Central Methodist University last week.

v The Baker men’s basketball team is also coming off back-to-back losses last week after falling to MNU and Graceland.

v Ben Steinlage is currently the only Wildcat averaging in double figures with 10.4 points per game.

v Junior Corey Anderson has averaged 16.8 points per game in the last four contests.

v Baker currently ranks No. 5 nationally with a field goal defense of 38.5 percent and No. 9 nationally with 29.5 defensive rebounds per game.

v The Ravens enter the contest with a five-game winning streak, claiming victories over Park (Mo.), Culver-Stockton College, MidAmerica Nazarene, Peru State College and Central Methodist University.

v Benedictine opened the 2011-12 campaign with a 74-67 OT victory over NCAA DI University of Missouri- Kansas City on Nov. 2, 2011.
