Baker (4-13, 2-4 HAAC) held a 25-16 lead with six minutes to play in the first half, but from that point forward the Wildcats were outscored 20-2 heading into the break.
First place MidAmerica Nazarene (12-5, 5-1 HAAC) finished the contest 34-for-66 (51 percent) from the floor and 7-for-13 (54 percent) from beyond the arc. The Pioneers also outrebounded Baker 43-31. Daria Sprew led the Pioneers with a game-high 16 points.
“We outplayed ourselves in that final six minutes of the first half,” said head coach Ben Lister. “Defensively we’ve got to get better. We’re 2-4 in the HAAC, but if we can regroup Saturday and grab a road victory at Graceland, it would put us right back in the thick of things.”
