Gloria Atanmo

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University women’s basketball team rattled off its third-straight victory Saturday afternoon with a 75-67 victory over Culver-Stockton College.

Junior Alisha Fanshier led all Baker scorers with a game-high 21 points and senior Gloria Atanmo tied a career-high, netting 19 points while pulling down eight rebounds. Freshman Shelbi Petty and Kyra Ramsey added 16 and 10 points respectively in a game that never saw the Wildcats trail.

“I thought offensively we really played nicely in the first half,” said head coach Ben Lister. “Defensively we had some breakdowns, but I’m happy with the end result of the way our girls are coming together. We’re happy to be right back in the thick of the conference race.”

Baker (4-12 overall, 2-3 HAAC) finished the game 24-for-63 (38 percent) from the field and 9-for-21 (43 percent) from beyond the arc, while converting on 18-of-21 free throw attempts.

Culver-Stockton (10-7 overall, 2-3 HAAC) had four players finish in double figures as Aneshia Starks and Monica Wilson led the way with 16 points apiece.
