HAAC Title Game

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men’s soccer team will host MidAmerica Nazarene on Friday night in the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament championship game at 7 p.m. at Liston Stadium on the campus of Baker University.

The second-ranked Wildcats (17-0-1, 7-0-1 HAAC) will host the fifth-seeded Pioneers (12-7-1, 4-4 HAAC). Baker defeated MNU earlier in the season on Oct. 12 by a score of 1-0. Josh Rydberg scored the lone goal in the contest in the 70th minute on a throw-in from Sean McAlister. Goalkeeper Matt Bickley made one save in the contest.

Odaine Sinclair continues to lead Baker with nine goals on the season. Tom Lowndes leads the team in points with 25. Matt Bickley currently ranks fourth nationally with a .57 goals against average.

Trent Remmich enters play as the third leading scorer in the nation with 24 tallies on the season for the Pioneers. He also ranks fourth nationally with seven game-winning goals and 1.2 goals per game. MNU goalkeeper Chris Ericksson ranks 11th nationally with a .75 goals against average.

“We're excited to host the conference championship game,” said head coach Nate Houser. “It’s going to be a great night with two very good soccer teams. It should be fun to watch the contrasting styles of play.”
