“I thought the crowd was great tonight,” said head coach Kathy Allen. “Not only did we put on a great show for our home fans, it all went to a great cause.”
Tuesday evening marked the volleyball team’s annual ‘Dig Pink’ volleyball match, with all proceeds going to support breast cancer research.
With the victory, Baker takes a 1 ½ lead in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings. The Wildcats have two games remaining against Avila University on Oct. 25 and Peru State College on Nov. 1.
“I think we’ve put ourselves in a position to control our own destiny at this point,” Allen added. “We’ve just got to take care of business the rest of the way out.”
With one more victory, Baker would assure themselves of at least a tie for the 2011 Heart of America Athletic Conference Title.
Baker is the only remaining undefeated team in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.
