No. 19 Baker women set for NAIA Fab Four rematch with No. 18 Hastings

HASTINGS, Neb. The Baker women’s soccer team travels to Hastings, Neb., on Tuesday evening in a rematch of last season’s NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship semifinal game. Action is slated to begin at 3 p.m. from Lloyd Wilson Stadium.

Baker (8-2-1) is coming off a 2-2 draw with Avila University last Saturday in Baldwin City. Alix Schiraldi scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season and Amber Pickering added key late goal for the Wildcats to force overtime. Goalkeeper Maggie Dupes made four saves in the contest.

Hastings (11-2-1) is coming off a commanding 7-1 victory over Briar Cliff (Iowa) last Saturday evening. The Broncos leading goal scorer Jessica Carlson scored three goals in the contest. She currently leads Hastings in goals scored (10), assists (8), shots (74), and shots on goal (33).

No. 5 Baker travels to face No. 1 Hastings on TuesdayBU vs Hastings 2

HASTINGS, Neb. – The Baker men’s soccer team will travel to Hastings, Neb., to battle top-ranked Hastings College on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. at Lloyd Wilson Stadium.

Baker (13-0) is coming off a 2-1 victory over Avila University on Saturday evening. Rich Klein and Tom Lowndes each scored goals to keep Baker atop the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings with a perfect 4-0 mark.

Hastings (14-0), the defending NAIA National Champion is currently riding an NAIA-record 39-match winning streak dating back to the 2009 season when they lost to Midland Lutheran, 1-0.

Odaine Sinclair continues to lead the Baker men offensively with six goals on the season. Tom Lowndes has also been instrumental leading the BU men with 10 assists and five goals. Goalkeeper Matt Bickley currently ranks No. 2 nationally with a .460 goals against average with six shutouts on the season.
