No. 6 Baker cruises past Graceland 4-0; improve to 11-0
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men’s soccer team improved to 11-0 on the year with a commanding 4-0 victory over Graceland University Saturday evening.
After a scoreless first half, Tom Lowndes put the Wildcats on the scoreboard first with back-to-back penalty kick goals.
Nick Ebmeyer added to the total in the 74th minute on a ball in the box from Odaine Sinclair. Richard Klein closed the game out in the 85th minute after receiving a ball from Tom Lowndes to give BU a 4-0 advantage.
Baker goalkeeper Matt Bickley made two saves in the contest to record his sixth shutout of the season.
“I thought it took a while for us to get comfortable, but once we got rolling and imposed ourselves we really had the ability to cause some problems for Graceland,” said head coach Nate Houser.
The Wildcats (11-0, 2-0 HAAC) return to action on Oct. 12 against MidAmerica Nazarene at 3:00 p.m. in Olathe, Kan.
