Soccer and volleyball host key games this afternoon

Volleyball and Soccer Action

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – With a big victory on Tuesday evening over Graceland University, the Baker University volleyball team sits in second place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings.

Baker (14-10, 4-0 HAAC) is currently just one game behind league leader MidAmerica Nazarene University (17-5, 5-0 HAAC).

Savannah Smith continues to lead the Baker offense with 2.4 kills per set and 211 kills on the season. Defensively Brooke Allen currently ranks fifth nationally with 491 total digs. Christina Delladio also ranks in the top 10 nationally at No. 6 with 107 total blocks.

Tabor College (10-8, 6-3 KCAC) is currently riding a three-match winning streak with victories over Friends (Kan.), Southwestern (Kan.), and Bethany (Kan.).

First serves is set for 4 p.m. Saturday in the George F. Collins Center.

Soccer teams host key HAAC game against Graceland SaturdayBU vs CMU

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The 19th ranked Baker women will get the action started on Saturday afternoon against Graceland University at 5 p.m. from Liston Stadium.

The Wildcats (6-2, 0-1 HAAC) will try to bounce back after dropping the season opener to Central Methodist last Sunday in Fayette.

Alix Schiraldi continues to lead the Wildcats offensively with eight goals on the season. She currently ranks No. 23 nationally with an average of one goal per game.

The Yellowjackets (4-3-3, 0-0-1 HAAC) opened conference play with a 2-2 draw against Avila University last Saturday. Gisela Arrieta leads the team with 12 goals on the year.

The sixth ranked Baker men will look to stay unblemished as they kick things off at 7:30 p.m.

The Wildcats (10-0, 1-0 HAAC) currently garner their third highest ranking in school history. Graceland (7-2-1, 1-0 HAAC) is coming off a 1-0 loss to Ashford University (Iowa) last Tuesday evening in their final non-conference game of the season. The Yellowjackets opened up HAAC play with a 4-0 victory over Avila University.

Odaine Sinclair continues to lead the Wildcat offense with six goals on the season. Brady Blankenship, who currently has eight tallies on the year, leads the Yellowjackets offensive attack.
