No. 14 Baker cruises past Ottawa 3-1

BU defeats OU

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The game itself was never really in question as the 14th ranked Baker women improved to 5-1 on Sunday evening at Liston Stadium.

Alix Schiraldi put the Wildcats on the scoreboard first with a header on a corner kick from Jordan Dolbin at 10:55.

Bre Hoener would add another goal at 34:02 on a blast from 30-yards out past a diving Lauren Peli, who was pulled immediately after.

Autumn Surage gave Ottawa its only goal of the contest three minutes later, but Alix Schiraldi closed out the game in the 85th minute when she weaved through two Ottawa defenders to give BU a 3-1 victory.BreHoenerGoal

Wildcat goalkeeper Rachel Theobald made six saves in the contest to record her fifth win of the season.

The Wildcats will return to action on Sept. 27 against Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 5 p.m. from Liston Stadium.
