Wildcats face tough non-conference test against Oklahoma Baptist
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker men’s and women’s soccer teams will have their hands full when they welcome Oklahoma Baptist University to Baldwin City on Friday afternoon.
The Baker women climbed two spots to No. 14 in the second edition of the 2011 NAIA Women’s Coaches’ Top 25 poll, released on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Alix Schiraldi continues to lead the offense with three goals on the season. Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Theobald has been steady in goal averaging 2.33 saves per contest, while posting a 1.54 goals against average.
The Baker men’s team also climbed in Tuesday’s poll to No. 13 after previously being ranked No. 18. Baker (6-0) is coming off victories against John Brown University and Oklahoma City University last weekend. Junior Odaine Sinclair leads the team offensively with three goals, while sophomore goalkeeper Matt Bickley has been steady in the net, posting four shutouts with a .20 goals against average.
The OBU women’s team enters play 1-2 on the year, while the men garner a No. 16 ranking with a 3-2 record.
