Baker volleyball upsets NCAA DII Southwest Baptist University
BOLIVAR, Mo. – After defeating Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) rival Evangel University 3-2 on Tuesday night, the Baker women’s volleyball came back and did it again on Wednesday afternoon against Southwest Baptist University 3-1.
Three players led the way offensively for the Wildcats as Savannah Smith tallied a team high 14 kills, while Jana Boss and Christina Delladio each added 13.
Libero Brooke Allen and setter Jana Boss recorded season-highs in the contest with 34 digs and 36 assists respectively.
“It was a good win for us,” said assistant coach Matt Windle. “We could’ve showed a little more energy and finished this thing off in three, but at least we still took care of business.”
The Wildcats return to action this weekend when they travel to the MidAmerica Nazarene Invitational on Sept. 16-17.
