No. 16 Wildcats escape past John Brown 4-3

Women escape

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – The Baker women’s soccer team jumped out to an early lead on Friday afternoon thanks to Alexa Fryer’s two early goals.

The Wildcats held JBU scoreless and allowed just three shots until the final eight seconds of the first half when Adrienne Kennedy scored a key goal heading into the break.

The Golden Eagles tied the game in the 65th minute on a goal from Laura Garcia, but in the 69th minute Baker got a break thanks to a deflection off of JBU’s Rachel Harris into their own goal. Alix Schiraldi added a goal in the 83rd minute and that would be all the Wildcats needed, as JBU’s comeback effort wasn’t enough.
