Andrew Patch named assistant director of athletics
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. –Andrew Patch, a 2009 Baker University graduate and former Wildcat football player, has been named the assistant director of athletics for events and finance, director of athletics Theresa Yetmar announced on Wednesday.
“Andrew will be an important asset to our department,” Yetmar said. “He will use his strong work ethic, organizational skills and energy to elevate the quality of our events. I know he will be a valuable resource for our coaching staff and student-athletes. Andrew has a true passion for Baker athletics and our success.”
During his time at Baker, Patch was named to the Dean’s List three times and was honored as an NAIA scholar-athlete in 2008 and 2009 while playing for the football team. Patch was also named to the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference first team in 2009.
In 2009, Patch served as a production intern for the Kansas City Chiefs, assisting with the weekly production for the Hy-Vee Chiefs Insider and features for the Chiefs website. Patch worked with the University of Colorado and the University of Missouri as a strength and conditioning intern in 2010, training student-athletes in a variety of sports.
Since February of 2011, Patch was a consultant for Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri where he managed projects for various clients.
“I am thrilled to return to Baker in my new role,” Patch said. “This university holds a very special place in my heart, and I am excited to work with all the sports teams. I can't wait to get started and build upon the successes of the Baker Athletic Department."
Patch will begin his duties on August 1, 2011.
