Three-time Oklahoma State Champion signs with Baker
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Head wrestling coach Jimmy May continues to dazzle the wrestling world with the 2011 recruiting class he is putting together.
May announced on Tuesday the signing of Nick Haugen (Claremore, Okla.), a three-time 6A Oklahoma State Champion and USA Wrestling High School All-American.
“We are very excited about Nick Haugen coming to Baker University,” said head coach Jimmy May. “He is one of the top prospects our young wrestling program has ever signed. Winning three state championships is an amazing accomplishment and puts him in a very elite group of Oklahoma high school wrestlers.”
Haugen finished his high school career with a 128-16 overall record.
“It just goes to show you Nick is an outstanding competitor,” May added. “He knows how to win the tough, close matches. His older brother, Josh, joined our team last season and made an immediate impact by placing second in the NAIA Central Regional en route to qualifying for nationals.”
