Baseball and softball teams return to action Wednesday afternoon

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Coming off a tough weekend, the Baker University baseball team will look to get back on track Wednesday afternoon as it hosts Missouri Valley College (5-9, 0-4 HAAC) in a game that was originally scheduled to be played in Marshall, Mo.

The Wildcats (5-9, 1-5 HAAC) are coming off a weekend in which they won just one game over Central Methodist University, before dropping a doubleheader to Lindenwood University on Sunday.

Brandon Truitt continues to lead the Wildcats offensively with a .514 batting average and 11 RBI’s on the season. Chris Cummins continues to steady the Cats‘ on the bump with a 4.82 ERA while averaging 10.6 strikeouts per game.

Game time is slated to begin at 2 p.m.

The Baker University softball team will return to action Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m., from Cavaness Field against Friends University (12-4, 0-0).

The Wildcats (6-8, 0-0 HAAC) are coming off a tough weekend doubleheader sweep against William Penn University.

Erin Greenwood leads the Wildcats offensive attack with a .378 batting average and eight RBI’s on the season. Heather Gruber anchors the Cats‘ on the mound with a 2.02 ERA.
