3.2.11 | HAAC Playoffs

Second season begins on Wednesday at Lindenwood for Baker women

2011 HAAC Playoffs

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Coming off a big win on Senior Day over Graceland University, the Baker women’s basketball team will look to ride a new wave of momentum as it opens the Heart of America Athletic Conference postseason tournament on Wednesday evening at No. 2 seed Lindenwood University. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m in St. Charles.

During the regular season, the Wildcats (15-15, 10-10 HAAC) defeated Lindenwood 71-66 on Dec. 4 in Baldwin City but fell 76-62 on Jan. 29 in St. Charles. The Lions (20-9, 15-5) are coming off a 67-56 Senior Day victory over William Jewell College.

In a season that was filled with ups and downs, the No. 7-seeded Wildcats feel like they are getting a chance to avenge some of the shortcomings they had during the regular season.

“Our kids know the new season begins now,” Baker head coach Susan Decker said. “If we play with the passion, heart and enthusiasm we’ve talked about in practice, everything else will take care of itself on the court.”
