Big second half pushes MidAmerica Nazarene past Baker
OLATHE, Kan. – The Baker women’s basketball team struggled to shoot the ball yet again on Thursday evening falling to MidAmerica Nazarene University 61-46.
The Wildcats (14-15, 9-10 HAAC) shot just 18-for-56 (32 percent) from the field, and only went 1-for-8 (12.5 percent) from beyond the arc. The Pioneers (11-18, 9-10 HAAC) bench played a key role in the victory outscoring the Wildcats 33-8.
Brittany Hines scored a team-high 16 points and Emily Gibson added 11 points and eight rebounds.
MidAmerica Nazarene had three players score in double figures as CJ Wesemann scored a team-high 15 points. Kiley Herold and Sophia Stockton each added 11 points.
Baker will return to action on Saturday afternoon as it hosts Graceland University on Senior Day at 2:00 p.m., CT. The Wildcat seniors will be honored between the men’s and women’s game.
