Track and field teams continue to pace towards nationals at NWU Triangular

LINCOLN, Neb. — Jeremy Gathright, Reggie Harris and Kellen Kristoffersen won individual men’s track and field events on Saturday, highlighting Baker University’s performances at the NWU Quad.

Gathright placed first in the triple jump (14.59 meters). Harris captured first place in the 55-meter dash (6.57 seconds), and Kristoffersen was victorious in the 800-meter run (2:02.76.). Harris also finished fifth in the 200 (23.66 seconds), and Gathright placed third in the long jump (6.66 meters).

J.L. Anderson placed second in the 55-meter hurdles (7.87 seconds) and fourth in the 55- meter dash (6.63 seconds).

Aaron Caldwell finished second in the mile (4:29.51) and sixth in the 3000 (9:33.35).

Jeremiah Korn finished third in the shot put (15.70 meters).

Other Wildcat placers were Bradford Nelson, fourth in the high jump (1.93 meters) and fifth in the long jump (12.81 meters); Taylor Nall, fourth in the 1000-meter run (2:43.77) and Ki’anie Brooks, ninth in the 200 (24.30 seconds).

Baker’s two 4 x 400 meter relay teams placed second and fourth with times of 3:30.21 and 3:35.80.

In the women’s meet, top performers from Baker were second-place finishers JaBryanna Wellington in the 400 (1:01.64); Ariella Nelson in the 600 (1:43.33); Katie Thurbon in the pole vault (3.35 meters); and Vanessa Saphangthon in the triple jump (10.47 meters).

Other Wildcat placers were Carrie Lister, fourth in the shot put (12.60 meters); Hannah Moore, sixth in the 55-meter dash (7.65 seconds); Corinna Papps, fifth in the 100 (3:40.20); Katelyn Wolken, fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.63); Shayna Mangiaracino, sixth in the 55 hurdles (9.83); Hela Kawas, sixth in the pole vault (2.75 meters);  and Saphangthong, sixth in the long jump (4.65 meters).

The 4x400 meter relay teams placed third and sixth with times of 4:12.78 and 4:31.77.

The Wildcats’ next competition is the HAAC Indoor Championships Feb. 18-19 in Lamoni, Iowa.
