The Wildcats, winners of four straight games, are assured of its fourth consecutive winning season under head coach Mike Grossner. With a victory, the graduating seniors will have compiled a 28-12 record in the Heart of America Athletic Conference during their four-year span.
Last weekend the Wildcats defeated Evangel University 41-6 on Senior Day. Freshman quarterback Jake Morse completed 18 of 27 passes with one touchdown in the win.
The Wildcats’ defense, which has surrendered an average of 10.3 points a game during its winning streak, continues to dominate. Colton Miller and Adam Steele led the Baker defense last weekend. Miller snagged two interceptions with seven tackles, while Steele recorded 11 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss.
“I thought last week was probably our best overall effort of the year,” Grossner said. “I really think closing out this season the right way Saturday would be a testament to the kind of character we’ve got on this team.”
Central Methodist is coming off a 38-17 victory over Avila University. Before the win, CMU had lost four consecutive conference games. CMU will look to quarterback Bryant Jackson to lead the way. Jackson averages 240 passing yards per game with 17 touchdowns in 2010.
