Wildcats set to host Avila on Senior Night

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker University seniors Brooke Pryor (Overbrook, Kan.) and Kendra Stephens (Olathe, Kan.) will play in their final regular-season home match as the Wildcats face Avila University on Senior Night in HAAC volleyball action Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., from the Collins Center.

“Brooke will go down as one of the most prolific players to come through my program in the 14 years I’ve been at Baker,” said head coach Kathy Allen. “I won’t be surprised if I’m sitting next to her in 10 years at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.”

“Kendra is one of those rare players that came through the JV ranks to earn a spot with the varsity squad,” Allen added. “She is one of the hardest workers and one of the best team players I’ve ever coached. She truly puts the team ahead of herself.”

Outside hitter Brooke Pryor continues to lead the team with 3.7 kills per set while sophomore setter Jana Boss is chipping in with 8.2 assists per set. Brooke Allen leads the team defensively with 5.2 digs per set. Junior Christina Delladio currently ranks 7th nationally with 155 total blocks, an average of 1.23 per set.

Looking ahead towards the playoffs, Baker will either face William Jewell or Benedictine College on the road in the opening round. Playoff pairings will be announced on Wednesday afternoon.
