The Baker squad finished the first round on Monday with a team score of 360 to lead by five strokes after 18 holes. The Wildcats finished with a team score of 384 in the second round to place second overall. Host team Southwestern College took home first place after finishing with a two-day total of 731.
“We pressed too much in the second day,” Wildcat head coach Karen Exon said. “We need to stay in the moment when we get in a position like this.”
All five Wildcat golfers finished in the top-12. Senior Dani Weimholt and junior Stacy Yowell tied for sixth place individually with two-day tournament scores of 183. Junior Stacy Yowell recorded her first collegiate eagle on the par-4 third hole Monday afternoon when she holed out from 180 yards.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Oct. 4-5 when they travel to Fulton, Mo., to compete in the William Woods University Fall Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course.
