Baker falls to No. 3 Cal Baptist, bounces back and sweeps No. 14 host Point Loma Nazarene 2009 HAAC Player of the Year Brooke Pryor

POINT LOMA, Calif. - The Baker women's volleyball team showed just how deep and talented they might really be today. In the matinee game this afternoon the Wildcats fell in four sets to No. 3 California Baptist University in a match that could've gone in either direction.

The Wildcats swiftly took game one 25-18, before dropping the next three sets (20-25, 22-25, 23-25).

"I think we played really well regardless of the outcome," said assistant coach Matt Windle. "We really hung in there for a while, but these guys are a really good team, and their No. 3 ranking shows it," Windle said.

Brooke Pryor (pictured) led the way offensively with 14 kills, Kelsey Wise chipped in with 9.

In the nightcap, the Wildcats were back to their 2009 form. The Wildcats defeated host No. 14 Point Loma Nazarene 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-22).

Jana Boss was stellar setting up the Baker offense with 24 assists. Brooke Pryor led the way with 12 kills, Christina Delladio (7) and Jana Boss (6) also helped run the offensive attack.

"The main difference I noticed in the game tonight, was the fact that Jana (Boss) has a lot more options with the ball," said Kathy Allen. "Last season we might have been trying to get the ball to one or two players, I think we've got a lot more options on the floor this season," Allen said.

The Wildcats will be back in action Saturday afternoon when they take on San Diego Christian University at 11:00 a.m. PST, before taking on No. 2 Concordia (Calif.) at 3:00 p.m. PST.
