Five players score in double figures as Baker defeats Avila, 62-52

Jenna Brantley scored 10 points in the Wildcats victory

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Five different players on the Baker women's basketball team had double-digit totals in points to lift the Wildcats to a 62-52 victory against Avila University on Thursday evening. Junior Aubree Gustin and sophomore Gloria Atanmo each had a team-high 11 points. Jenna Brantley, Brittany Hines and Emily Gibson each recorded 10.

The Wildcats shot 40 percent from the floor and 13 percent from beyond the arc (2-for-16).

HAAC leader Alyson Young led the way for Avila recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. The Eagles shot just 32 percent from the floor in the game.

The Wildcats will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo., on Saturday afternoon.

Baker men pick up first HAAC victory with 64-55 victory over AvilaJaris Wommack

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - After traling by seven heading into the break, the Baker men had an offensive surge in the second-half Thursday evening. The Wildcats shot 50 percent (11-for-22) from the field in the second-half  and 57 percent (4-for-7) from beyond the arc.

Jaris Wommack led the way scoring a team-high 16 points, both Andre Strozier and Sam Kenney chipped in with 15 and 11 respectively.

The Wildcats will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo.
