double-doubles

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker Wildcats continue conference play when they visit the Evangel Crusaders Saturday afternoon at the Ashcroft Center.

On the women’s side, the top two teams in the HAAC are set to meet for an intense matchup at 2 p.m. Evangel (17-4, 11-1) enters the contest on a nine-game winning streak and is led by Kara Blankenship who averages 16.1 points per game. Despite Blankenship’s 30 points in Evangel’s previous meeting with Baker, the Wildcats prevailed and dealt the Crusaders their only conference loss.

With a win, the Wildcats (14-8, 10-2) will not only capture the series but the top spot in the conference as well. Baker hopes to keep things rolling as it comes off a 54-44 win over Central Methodist University.

Leading scorer Emily Gibson posted 22 points in the victory.

The Baker men (7-15, 0-12) tip off at 4 p.m. against the conference’s second-place team. Evangel (13-9, 9-3) enters the game with a recent victory over Lindenwood University.
