Undefeated Baker grapplers face toughest challengeWrestlers

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The first-year Baker University wrestling team has taken down all its opponents this year – winning three dual meets and qualifying 10 individuals for nationals.

This Tuesday, the Wildcats face their strongest challenge when they host NAIA and Central Region foe, Bacone College (Okla.) at 7 p.m. in the George F. Collins Center.

"We’ll definitely be challenged. There are lots of very good individual wrestlers on the Bacone squad. I hope people can get out and attend our last home dual of the season. The gym should be rockin',” stated head coach Jimmy May.

The team traveled to Northwestern College (Iowa) on Saturday for the Paul Bartlett Red Raider Invitational to face 10 teams from the NAIA and NCAA Division III. No. 1 Augsburg College won the team title (178.0). Host team Northwestern claimed second (114.0), Waldorf College was third (99.5), and the Baker Wildcats finished a close fourth (94.0).
