Baker to take on Lindenwood Saturday eveningJenna Brantley

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. --­ The Baker women's basketball team (5-4, 2-0) will start the action at 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening against Lindenwood University (2-5, 1-0) at the Collins Center.

The Wildcats are 2-0 in the conference. Baker knocked off No. 24 Evangel University 66-61 and defeated rival Benedictine College 69-56 last week.

Brittany Hines and Emily Gibson lead the charge for the surging Wildcats. Over the past two games Hines has averaged 21 points per contest.

Gibson, the Wildcats leading scorer and rebounder, has recorded double-doubles in the past two contests.

The Baker men (6-4, 0-2) will have their hands full Saturday when they take on No. 12 Lindenwood University (7-2, 1-0) at 7:30 p.m.

The Wildcats have three players averaging in double figures: Andre Strozier with 13.9, Malcolm Greer with 13.2 and Austin Bond with 11.2. Strozier also leads the Wildcats with 8.8 rebounds per game and four double-doubles on the season.

The Lindenwood Lions were picked No. 1 in the preseason HAAC coaches poll.

NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT

Junior Jenna Brantley (pictured) ranks No. 6 in the NAIA with 46 assists on the season. Junior Emily Gibson ranks No. 8 in three categories: offensive rebounds per game (4.2), total blocks (19), and total rebounds (80).
