Women fall 2-0, men tie 0-0 in double overtime to GracelandMen's Soccer

Baker Women

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. -  In a game that seemed like it was dominated by Baker, it was Baker that ended up on the short end falling 2-0 to Graceland University.

The Wildcats outshot the Yellow Jackets 12-4 in the contest, Graceland goalkeeper Leslie Danner was stellar in goal stopping all 12 shots against.

Graceland got on the scoreboard 18 minutes into the contest when Karina Vega placed a perfect corner kick into the middle of the box for Shay Eskridge. Eskridge headed the ball over Maggie Dupes of Baker to give Graceland the early 1-0 advantage.

Baker had their chances. Alix Schiraldi recorded three shots on goal, and Christine Janssens, Ashley Ukena and Jenny Haynes each recorded two.

Late in the game Graceland sealed the game on a direct kick from the top of the box by Gisela Arrieta that escaped past a diving Maggie Dupes to give Graceland the 2-0 victory.

Baker now sits at 12-6 overall and 6-3 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Baker will be back in action next week when they host a round 1 game of the HAAC playoffs. Check back on bakerwildcats.com for full details on times and locations. View box score here.
