10.10.09 | Women’s Soccer

No. 19 Baker takes down No. 9 BenedictineWomen defeat Benedictine

The No. 19 Lady ‘Cats came out to play on Saturday evening, handing No. 9 Benedictine College their first loss of the season.

Ashley Ukena got the action started just 11 minutes into the first half when she blasted a shot from the top of the box to give Baker a 1-0 lead.

Maggie Dupes came up huge again stopping 4 shots, one of which came at a critical point with 20 minutes remaining in regulation. Dupes has now recorded six shutouts on the season.

Rachel Shepard added an insurance goal with 4 minutes remaining in regulation to seal the victory for Baker.

The Lady ‘Cats now sit at 9-4 on the season with a 3-1 record in the conference. View the full box score here.



10.10.09 | Men’s Soccer

No. 20 Benedictine stuns No. 9 Baker

The Baker men were never able to get any momentum going their way Saturday evening at Liston Stadium.

Benedictine got on the scoreboard first when Baker shot the ball into their own goal on a clearing attempt midway through the first half. Benedictine added to that total in the 2nd half when Brendan Copeland squeezed a shot past goalkeeper Alex Burton. With one minute remaining in regulation Baker got on the scoreboard on a header from Luke Haidarovic that was setup by Kome Okiomah and Jacob Chiarelli
