2012 Hall Of Fame Class
The Baker University Athletic Department hosted the Baker University Athletic Hall of Fame Induction and Student-Athlete Awards Banquet. Taylor Gill '83, Phil Hannon '86, Joe Girardi '79 and Liesel Kirk-Fink '02 were inducted to the 2012 Baker University Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2012.
Baker University Sports Medicine
Sports medicine partners with Healthé Athlete, which provides the highest level of health care informatics for the student athlete. Division I programs like the University of Missouri, University of Norte Dame, and Oklahoma State University are partners with Healthé Athlete. Beyond those institutions, the NBA and Major League Soccer have partnered with Healthé Athlete.

New Baker Athletics Staff
The Athletics Department welcomes two new members to the staff. Tyler Price arrives from Park University as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications. Dan O'Connell was hired as the 3rd full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Women's Basketball Players Volunteer At Grandparent's Day Event
The Baker University women's basketball team took time out on Sunday, Sept. 9 to participate in the Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce Grandparents Day. The Wildcats spent the afternoon volunteering at the event for local grandparents and their grandchildren in the Baldwin City area.

Baker Football Team Reaches Out To Local Fans
The football team reached out to a sergeant who recently came back from Afghanistan. They sent this special Wildcat fan a signed jersey and program. They also connected with a player's parent who was hospitalized by sending a signed football, jersey, and card. Lastly, the football team showed support to a young boy from Wellsville. The boy's hero is WR Jake Green, and Jake made a special visit with the boy and gave him a signed jersey and team photograph.

Baker Football: Academic Success
The football team is ranked 2nd in the country with 10 Academic All-Americans. Beyond that, they have been ranked in the top 3 nationally for the past 3 years
Dance Team Fundraising
The dance team has been working hard to fundraise for their trip to Nationals. They served as parking lot attendants during the Maple Leaf Festival. They also sell concessions during fall sporting events and teach Zumba classes to members of the Baker community.
Spirit Squad Sells Shirts
For the annual Blackout football game against Missouri Valley, the Spirit Squad sold Blackout t-shirts as a fundraising endeavor. Their efforts helped "blackout" the stadium and create an exciting football environment.
Baseball Fundraising
Members of the baseball team ushered a KU football game in Lawrence, and during the Maple Leaf Festival they sold Italian sausage, hot dogs and cherry lemonades for the 3rd straight.
Soccer Success
The men's and women's soccer teams have nominated 7 players for the CoSIDA-Capital One Academic All-American team for this season.
This past summer, the men's team held several soccer clinics that served the youth in surrounding communities. They also assisted with kids tournaments in Shawnee, Kansas.
Track & Field Fundraising
The Baker University Track and Field team ushered a KU football game in Lawrence, Kansas as part of their fundraising.
Men's Basketball Fundraising
The men's basketball team served as parking lot attendants during the 2012 Maple Leaf Festival. They also sell concessions at various fall sporting events.
Basketball Newsletter
The men's basketball team has been running the Round Ball Newsletter Club since August to keep the fans, parents, and alumni updated about the program and the team. Volleyball Hosts Dig Pink Match
The Baker volleyball team recently had their annual Dig Pink match. Students, parents, and fans wore pink to recognize breat cancer awareness month. The gate revenue from this event was matched by volleyball, and a donation was made to the Dig Pink Foundation.
New Softball Press Box
With the help from a generous donor, the Baker softball team has a new press box that will make it's debut this spring at the first home game of the season.
All-American's Recognized
The Athletics Department hosted the Track & Field All-American Recognition banquet. This event honored Stephanie Nelson (NAIA National Champion - Javelin) and Katie Thurbon (NAIA Runner Up - Pole Vault).
Wrestling All-American Recognition Banquet
Brandon Gebhardt is an NAIA All-American at 285 lbs weight class. He was honored at the president's house during the All-American banquet.
Women's Basketball Team
The women's basketball team supported Breast Cancer Awareness by selling t-shirts and donating the proceeds to the local breast cancer awareness fund.
This past June, the women held a basketball summer league for 200 Jr. High and High school players from 20 different Kansas high schools.
The women are also avid supporters of all fall sports teams. It is common to see the entire team at a soccer match or football game to cheer on their fellow athletes.
