BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker women will go for back-to-back wins when they face Park University at 7:30.

The Wildcats (1-2) are coming off their first victory of the season, a win against Friends University on Tuesday evening. Emily Gibson leads the ’Cats offensively with 9.3 points per game. Defensively Aubree Gustin averages 7.3 rebounds per game. Junior, Jenna Brantley ranks No. 24 in the NAIA with 14 total assists and 4.6 assists per game.

Park University (0-3) is led by Stefany Jones with 10.67 points per game and 2.7 steals per game. Dominique Hayes anchors the defense with 7.1 rebounds per game.

Baker rolls Park 80-50Cameron Roland

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker took a one-point lead heading into the half on Friday evening at the George F. Collins Center. At the end of regulation it was Baker taking a commanding 30-point victory.

The Wildcats outscored the Pirates 50-21 in the second half to even up their season record at 2-2.

Four players scored in double digits, Cameron Roland,15, Emily Gibson, 12, Aubree Gustin,11, and Courtney Goodrum,10. The Wildcats shot 47 percent from the floor and forced 21 turnovers.

Defensively, Emily Gibson led the way recording eight rebounds and four blocks.

No. 24 Baker takes down Central Methodist on Senior DayRichie Bryant

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker seniors went out in style Saturday afternoon at Liston Stadium, and the day ended with a Gatorade bath for head coach Mike Grossner, as the Wildcats won 33-7.

The offense and defense can both take credit for the win this week. Senior Richie Bryant rushed for 144 yards on 35 attempts, one of which came when he broke free for a 50-yard score to give Baker a 16-0 lead early in the second quarter. Senior Mack Brown passed for 207 yards with three touchdowns.

Defensively, the Wildcats were stellar. The Wildcat defense held Central Methodist to just five yards rushing on the day while forcing three turnovers. Matt Brock recorded 10 tackles. Calvin Pearce recorded six with two forced fumbles.

Four players score in double digits as Baker rollsMalcolm Greer

OTTAWA, Kan. - Baker wasted no time dumping Ottawa for the second time this season on Saturday evening. The Wildcats outscored the Braves 52-26 in the first half, ultimately paving their way to victory

Austin Bond had 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. Andre Strozier recorded his third double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Baker assistant coach Pedro Dos Santos believes this Baker squad will open some eyes this season. "We have a lot of players who can do a lot of different things for us. Some will score 17 points on one night and the next score six. We're pretty deep," said Dos Santos.

Wrestling to face Concordia University Tuesday evening at Collins CenterBaker Wrestling

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The wrestling team will host its first dual meet on Baker's campus Tuesday evening. The match begins at 7 p.m., in the George F. Collins Center.

Concordia University, a first-year program, has participated in two tournaments this year. Both Baker and Concordia participated in the Dakota Wesleyan Tournament.

The Wildcats are 1-0 in duals after defeating York College in the school's first competition on Nov. 6. This will be Concordia's first dual of the season.

Baker basketball teams travel to Kansas Wesleyan University Tuesday eveningAndre Strozier

Both the Baker men and women are coming off victories last weekend. The Baker women swept both games at the Baker Classic to improve their overall record to 3-2. The Baker men defeated Ottawa University for the second time this season, improving their overall record to 3-2 as well.

Junior Emily Gibson, who transferred from Washburn, leads the way for the Baker women. Gibson averages 10.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and blocks 2.1 shots per game. Gibson has recorded two double-doubles.

Jenna Brantley leads the team with 4.5 assists per game. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.

Baker improves to 2-0 in dualsWrestling

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker University wrestling team advanced its dual meet record to a 2-0 after a 37-6 victory over fellow first-year program, Concordia University from Seward, Neb. Freshman Alan Callahan got the Wildcats started at 125 pounds in front of his hometown with an exciting 15-2 major decision over Concordia's Logan Shanks. Robb Waters, freshman from Kansas City, Mo., followed Callahan with his own 13-2 major decision over Brady Chancellor. The Bulldogs got on the board at 141 pounds with Alex Rostvet claiming a 6-1 decision over Baker's Kalem Bennett.

Baker upends Kansas WesleyanAustin Bond

SALINA, Kan. - The Baker men's basketball team improved its overall season record to 4-2 on Tuesday evening, defeating Kansas Wesleyan 63-60.

The Coyotes took a nine-point lead early in the first half, but the Wildcats battled back to trail by  one heading into the break.

Three players scored in double digits: Austin Bond with 16, Manuel Medina with 16 and Malcolm Greer with 13. The Wildcats shot 44 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Manuel Medina was the only nonstarter to record points in the contest.

The Wildcats will be back in action Saturday evening when they travel to St. Mary to face the Spires in Leavenworth, Kan.
