The Wildcats enter 2010 ranked No.24 nationally.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second-straight year, Baker University will come into the 2010 campaign ranked in the Top 25 nationally.

Despite losing two of their top offensive performers, running back Richie Bryant (two-time all-conference first-team selection) and quarterback Mack Brown (all-time passing leader in school history), the Wildcats edged their way into the poll at No.24.

The Wildcats were swept again on in a non-conference showdown Tuesday.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan.- A misplayed fly ball on the infield got the big inning started for St. Mary’s when there was some confusion between third baseman Tad Eubanks and catcher Brandon Truitt. The Wildcats dropped game one 9-7 after surrendering five runs in the seventh.

Worley blast, Gruber dominance sends Baker back to playoffs

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - For the first time in four years, the Baker softball team is back in the Heart of America Athletic Conference playoffs.

Katie Worley's three-run home run in the third inning gave the Wildcats a 5-0 lead from which they never looked back. Freshman Heather Gruber pitched six solid innings giving up three runs on 10 hits. Senior Chelsi Taylor took over for Gruber in the seventh and closed the game out in dramatic fashion.

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Baker University golf teams will be hosting their annual Spring Invitational. The 54-hole event features nine women's teams and eight men's teams. The par-72, 7,092-yard Alvamar Golf Club will serve as the host course.

Baker women take first-place in rain shortened BU Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Juniors Danielle Weimholt and Krista Yaktine led the way for the Baker women on Tuesday afternoon posting respective scores of 86 and 92. The Wildcats finished the tournament with a team score of 368.

Avila University finished in second-place with a team score of 385, Missouri Valley third-place at 387 and Ottawa University in fourth-place at 422.

Coach Hannon and the Wildcats will battle for the final spot in the HAAC Playoffs.

OLATHE, Kan. - MidAmerica jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back Saturday afternoon at Dixon Stadium. The Pioneers scored three runs in the second-inning thanks to a double and  two-run homer by Kyle Segrave.

MNU senior Harrison Helms held the Wildcats to just six hits in the 4-0 complete-game shutout victory.

Baker's Katie Worley named HAAC Player of the Week

Junior Katie Worley led the Baker women's softball team back to the playoffs.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker junior catcher Katie Worley was named HAAC Softball Player of the Week, Commissioner Larry Lady announced Monday afternoon.

Worley, a native of Platte Woods, Mo., hit 1.000 while slugging 1.800 in a week that saw the Wildcats advance to their first playoff berth in four years. Worley's three-run homer in the third-inning of a doubleheader last week gave Baker a 5-0 lead from which they never looked back.
