Wildcats sweep San Diego Christian College
POINT LOMA, Calif. - Jana Boss played a key role yet again, assisting the Baker attackers 21 times en route to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-19) sweep of San Diego Christian College.
Brooke Pryor led the squad with 12 kills, Christina Delladio added eight and Jana Boss had six of her own.
The Wildcats improved to 2-1 on the season with the win. Baker will now face No. 2 Concordia (Calif.) at 3:00 p.m. PST in the final game of the tournament. Live stats of the game can be viewed here

Baker falls to No. 3 Cal Baptist, bounces back and sweeps No. 14 host Point Loma Nazarene
POINT LOMA, Calif. - The Baker women's volleyball team showed just how deep and talented they might really be today. In the matinee game this afternoon the Wildcats fell in four sets to No. 3 California Baptist University in a match that could've gone in either direction.
The Wildcats swiftly took game one 25-18, before dropping the next three sets (20-25, 22-25, 23-25).
"I think we played really well regardless of the outcome," said assistant coach Matt Windle. "We really hung in there for a while, but these guys are a really good team, and their No. 3 ranking shows it," Windle said.

Baker volleyball opens 2010 season at Seaside Invitational
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - 2009 HAAC Player of the Year Brooke Pryor, and 2009 HAAC Libero of the Year Brooke Allen will be looked upon to lead the Baker volleyball team into their 2010 debut this weekend at the Seaside Invitational in Point Loma, Calif., this weekend, Aug. 27-28.
The Wildcats, who welcome back eight letter winners and five starters, open the tournament versus No. 3 California Baptist University, which went 29-6 overall last season, on Friday at 11:00 a.m. PST. Friday evening the Wildcats will take on host No. 14 Point Loma Nazarene at 8:00 p.m. PST before closing out Saturday against San Diego Christian University at 11:00 a.m. PST and No. 2 Concordia University (Calif.) at 3:00 p.m. PST.

Baker University's Kayla Anderson to participate in Red Cross/NAIA Collegiate Leadership Program
Kayla Anderson will represent Baker University in Washington, D.C.
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker University volleyball student-athlete, Kayla Anderson, is headed to Washington, DC, for the Red Cross/NAIA Collegiate Leadership Program.
NAIA student-athletes from select campuses will travel to Washington, DC, for two weeks of energetic leadership training at the Red Cross National Headquarters, from June 7-18.

Pryor, Allen receive top honors
Baldwin City, Kan. — Baker University junior outside hitter Brooke Pryor was honored as the Heart of America Athletic Conference volleyball player of the year and sophomore libero Brooke Allen was selected the conference libero of the year, the HAAC announced on Thursday.
Pryor, Overbrook, Kan., ranked 10th nationally with 4.2 kills per set. Allen, Topeka, Kan., ranked third nationally with 6.8 digs per set. Both players were named to the all-HAAC first team.
Other members from the Wildcats’ record-setting 32-4 team were recognized by the conference:

- Christina Delladio, sophomore middle hitter, Bonner Springs, Kan.
- Nikki Anderson, senior hitter, Alma, Kan.
- Kelsey Cobb, sophomore defensive specialist, Overland Park, Kan.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – You could see it from the start, Evangel came ready to play. The Crusaders jumped out to early leads in each of the three sets, ultimately putting the Wildcats in a hole they couldn’t recover from.
In a game where the first 100 students had their fee covered, only 72 showed up for the Wildcats biggest game of the season.
Baker now awaits its national postseason fate. The Wildcats finished the season 32-4 and 10-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

HAAC semifinal action tonight, winner advances to title game
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker University's women's volleyball team will play for a spot in the HAAC title game when they face Evangel University in the HAAC semifinals at 7 p.m.
The Lady 'Cats (32-3) defeated MidAmerica Nazarene last Saturday 3-0 (27-25, 25-17, 26-24). Offensively, the 'Cats are led by junior Brooke Pryor, who averages 4.2 kills per set, which ranks No. 9 in the NAIA and No. 1 in the HAAC.
Defensively, Brooke Allen is in a league of her own. Allen ranks No. 2 in the NAIA with 6.9 digs per set and 865 total digs. Both Allen and Pryor combined have compiled nine HAAC Player of the Week awards this season.
