Wildcat runners capture HAAC women’s title; men finish second
Led by freshman Lauren Jaqua, Baker University placed seven runners in the top 20 and captured the Heart of America Athletic Conference women’s cross country championship on Saturday at the Baldwin City Golf Course. With the team title, the Wildcats qualified for the NAIA national meet on Nov. 20 in Vancouver, Wash.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker women’s soccer team opens up its quest for a HAAC Championship on Monday evening at Liston Stadium. Fourth-seeded Baker (9-5-3 overall, 4-3-2 HAAC) will face fifth-seeded Lindenwood (7-10-1 overall, 4-4-1 HAAC) at 7 p.m.

Wildcats defeat Calumet College; qualify 15 for nationals at Dan Harris Open
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – In the words of head coach Jimmy May, “It was a great weekend for the sport of wrestling.” On Friday evening the Wildcats defeated Calumet College in the teams first dual of the season. Saturday’s action saw the Wildcats qualify 15 wrestlers for the 2011 NAIA National Championships.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker women’s soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Tournament Monday night after defeating fifth seeded Lindenwood University in overtime 4-3. This is the second win of the season for the Wildcats over the Lions, as they defeated them 2-0 in the regular season home finale.

Baker men fall to Benedictine in HAAC Quarterfinals, 2-1
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker men’s soccer team was eliminated from the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) playoffs on Tuesday evening after falling 2-1 to rival Benedictine College.

Volleyball set for semifinal showdown with No. 25 Lindenwood
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Baker women’s volleyball team is in a similar position to last season, but this time they’re playing the role of underdogs.
Baker (23-12 overall, 5-4 HAAC) will face high-flying Lindenwood (31-12 overall, 8-2 HAAC) in the conference tournament semifinals Wednesday evening in St. Charles.
Senior Brooke Pryor and sophomore Jana Boss (pictured) continues to lead the squad offensively. Pryor is averaging 3.7 kills per set, while Boss is chipping in with 8.3 assists.

Baker women’s basketball falls at Friends University, 67-77
WICHITA, Kan. – After starting the season 2-0, the Baker women’s basketball team suffered its first setback of the 2010-11 campaign falling 67-77 to Friends University.
Two players scored in double figures. Senior Emily Gibson led the way with 16 points and 8 rebounds and junior Brooke Sanders (pictured) chipped in with 15 points while shooting 6-for-8 from the floor.
Turnovers were key, as the Wildcats committed 27 turnovers, a season high.
