BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker University baseball team will prepare to open a new chapter in their 2010 season when they start Heart of America Athletic Conference play against Culver-Stockton College (4-8, 0-2) Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats finished its non-conference schedule at 3-5 with wins against Ottawa University and Mount Mercy College.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - A late inning surge keyed the Wildcats to victory in their HAAC opener on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing 5-0 heading into the seventh inning, the Wildcats mounted a five-run surge to tie the game up and send the contest into extra innings.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - After starting out the season 2-0 in conference play, the Baker men's baseball team dropped a weekend doubleheader at Lindenwood University this past weekend. Baker dropped the first game 4-2 and the second 13-5.

Baker wrestlers close out inaugural season at NAIA ChampionshipsLevi Calhoun

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Baker University completed its inaugural wrestling season this past week at the 53rd Annual NAIA National Championships on the campus of Oklahoma City University. The Wildcats qualified 10 wrestlers for the championships. The Baker wrestlers placed 28th out of 38 teams in the competition.

The Wildcats were led by senior Levi Calhoun (285, Oklahoma City). Calhoun opend the championships with a huge victory over the fifth-rated heavyweight in the nation from the University of Great Falls. Calhoun followed up that victory with a second-round 3-2 decision over Willie Hernandez from Jamestown College. With that win, Calhoun advanced to the quarterfinals against Chas Maloch from McKendree College. Calhoun was 1-1 against Maloch during the regular season before losing a hard-fought battle 5-3 in the quarters.

Baker to take on Ottawa in College Fanz First Down Classic

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - College Fanz™ Sports Network, the world’s largest online college sports community launched by ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen, today announced that the Ottawa University Braves will host the Baker University Wildcats in the fourth annual College Fanz First Down Classic. The football game is tentatively set to kick-off on Saturday, August 28th at 7 p.m. Central Time at People’s Bank Field in Ottawa, Kan.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – On a day where the temperature dropped 20 degrees between games, the Baker Wildcats (7-9, 4-4) split a doubleheader with conference foe Missouri Valley College (3-9, 3-5) Friday afternoon. Baker dropped the first game 5-4 in extra innings and won the nightcap 15-5.
