Wildcats Ranked Ninth Nationally in Preseason Poll
College Fanz NAIA preview magazine has ranked Baker University at No. 9 in the preseason along with being named one of the dark horses in the national title picture.
"If you eliminated the top five teams from the postseason, I would lean toward someone like Baker or Shorter winning the national title," stated magazine contributor Jason Dannelly.

Blue Valley West standouts Justin and Jeremy Bryan sign with Baker
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Local cross country standouts Justin and Jeremy Bryan announced last week that they will attend Baker University in the fall of 2012.
The Bryans come to Baker University from Blue Valley West where the team is coming off a third-place finish in the 6A Boys State Finals. Justin Bryan took fifth place overall in the state finals.
“I’m very excited about the addition of Jeremy and Justin,” said head cross country coach Zach Kindler. “Both of them are outstanding runners that will add tremendous depth to our men’s team. Coming from the Blue Valley West Program, I know that they will be ready for the college level both athletically and academically. Blue Valley West’s teams have been outstanding over the past few years and that comes from great coaches as well as help from Jeremy and Justin.”

Men’s cross country grabs Top 25 finish at NAIA National Championships
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Head cross country coach Zach Kindler has said it all season: He’s has a Top 25 squad.
Saturday afternoon the Baker men’s cross country team solidified that statement finishing 25th at the 2011 NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Championships.
Junior Aaron Caldwell led the Baker squad in the men’s 8K with a time of 25:59, good enough for 128th place overall.

Baker men look to make a mark nationally at NAIA National Championships
VANCOUVER, Wash. – The 56th Annual NAIA Men’s and 32nd Annual Women’s Cross Country National Championships will take place Saturday at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash. The men’s 8K championship race will start at 10:30 a.m. PST, followed by the women’s 5K at 11:45 a.m.
Baker, the 2011 Heart of America Athletic Conference Champions will look to gain some respect on the national level this weekend. The Wildcats were on the verge of breaking into the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll on numerous occasions throughout the season, but were never able to receive enough votes. Saturday they will have the chance to prove their doubters wrong.

Baker men’s cross country takes HAAC title
FAYETTE, Mo. – The Baker University men’s cross country team won the 2011 HAAC Championship on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Central Methodist University.
Aaron Caldwell led the Baker runners with a time of 26:01 in the men’s 8k race, good enough for fifth-place overall. Corey Clark finished in eighth with a time of 26:28 and Taylor Nall finished in ninth with a time of 26:31.

Caldwell sets personal best mark at Mid States Classic
WINFIELD, Kan. – Junior Aaron Caldwell set a personal best record by 15 seconds on Saturday afternoon at the Mid States Classic.
The Overland Park, Kan., native finished 20th overall, and led the team to a fifth place overall finish with a time of 2:11:23 in the men’s 8k run. Oklahoma Baptist took the team title with a time of 2:07:02.
Individually Corey Clark had another solid race, finishing in 25th overall with a time of 26:05.54. Eric Larson rounded out the Top 30 with a time of 26:13.30, good enough for 28th overall.

Women take third; men place fourth at Gary Stoner
FAYETTE, Mo. – Lauren Jaqua led the way for the Baker women yet again, taking home second place overall on Saturday afternoon at the Gary Stoner Invitational. Aaron Caldwell led the Baker men with an eighth-place finish.
Jaqua finished with a time of 18:51.27, ahead of all but one NCAA DII runner in the ladies 5k. Caldwell finished just three seconds off his lifetime best mark with a time of 26:14.86 in the men’s 8k.
Ashley McBride (pictured) finished 11th overall with a time of 19:33.91 and Kerry Kurta took 14th with a time of 19:54.24 to round out the top 20.

BU men take third; women grab fifth at Planet Sub Invite
EMPORIA, Kan. – The Baker University cross country teams had another successful outing this past weekend at Emporia State University.
The Baker men’s squad took third place behind NCAA schools Northwest Missouri State and Fort Hays State University.
Aaron Caldwell led the way yet again for the BU men grabbing 15th overall with a time of 26:11.18 in the men’s 8k race. Corey Clark finished 26th with a time of 26:31.90 and Eric Larson rounded out the top three with a time of 26:46.06, good enough for 34th overall.
