BU men take third; women grab fifth at Planet Sub Invite
EMPORIA, Kan. – The Baker University cross country teams had another successful outing this past weekend at Emporia State University.
The Baker men’s squad took third place behind NCAA schools Northwest Missouri State and Fort Hays State University.
Aaron Caldwell led the way yet again for the BU men grabbing 15th overall with a time of 26:11.18 in the men’s 8k race. Corey Clark finished 26th with a time of 26:31.90 and Eric Larson rounded out the top three with a time of 26:46.06, good enough for 34th overall.

Wildcats take share of first place; Allen wins career game 300
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University volleyball team came through big in two ways on Tuesday evening as the team moved into a tie for first place and head coach Kathy Allen won her 300th game.
BU took set one 25-21, before falling in set two 16-25. The Wildcats rebounded in the third set 25-18 and closed out the game in dramatic fashion with a 26-24 victory.

Men’s soccer team jumps four spots in latest Top 25 poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After winning its HAAC opener on Sunday evening, the Baker men’s soccer team (10-0, 1-0 HAAC) jumped to sixth nationally in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll.
Other HAAC schools in the Oct. 4 poll include Missouri Valley College (8-1-0), Benedictine College (10-0-0) and Graceland University (7-1-1).
“It’s fantastic that the hardwork of the team is being recognized nationally,” said head coach Nate Houser. “I think it’s great for the conference, but we’re really just more interested in where we end up at the end of the season.”

Coach Allen ranks among BU’s best of all time
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Tuesday night will go down as one of the all-time special moments in Baker athletics history.
With a 3-1 victory over Graceland at the Collins Center, Wildcat head volleyball coach Kathy Allen recorded her 300th career win, becoming only the second Baker coach in any sport to achieve that milestone.
The longest tenured coach at Baker with 13 years of service, Allen’s teams annually rank among the elite in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and perform well in the classroom with five recent players earning NAIA scholar-athlete recognition.

Soccer and volleyball host key games this afternoon
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – With a big victory on Tuesday evening over Graceland University, the Baker University volleyball team sits in second place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings.
Baker (14-10, 4-0 HAAC) is currently just one game behind league leader MidAmerica Nazarene University (17-5, 5-0 HAAC).
Savannah Smith continues to lead the Baker offense with 2.4 kills per set and 211 kills on the season. Defensively Brooke Allen currently ranks fifth nationally with 491 total digs. Christina Delladio also ranks in the top 10 nationally at No. 6 with 107 total blocks.

Huge first half lifts Baker past Avila 37-20
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Baker University football team got the bounce-back result it needed on Saturday afternoon with a commanding, 37-20 victory over Avila University.
The Wildcats (4-3, 3-3 HAAC) scored 20 points in the first quarter on two touchdown passes from Jake Morse and one rushing score by Kyle Bolton. Andrew Kimry added a field goal in the second quarter, before Morse completed another touchdown pass to Joel Murphy. Avila finally got on the scoreboard with 28 seconds remaining in half on touchdown pass by Jacob Hicks to James Russell.
The Eagles (0-6, 0-4 HAAC) scored just three minutes out of the break on another touchdown pass from Hicks, but Baker proved to be too much down the stretch as running back Scottie Meyer made his return from injury with a rushing touchdown just two plays later.

Dolbin leads No. 19 Baker past Graceland 3-2
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Jordan Dolbin stole the show on Saturday evening as the Wildcats defeated Graceland University 3-2.
Dolbin put the Wildcats on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 17th minute on a from 22-yards out past goalkeeper Stefany Castano.
Graceland answered in the 41st minute on a goal by Karina Vega.
Ashley Ukena put the Wildcats back in front in the 52nd minute after Alexa Fryer’s tie-up with the Graceland keeper caused the ball to deflect out to Ukena.

No. 6 Baker cruises past Graceland 4-0; improve to 11-0
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men’s soccer team improved to 11-0 on the year with a commanding 4-0 victory over Graceland University Saturday evening.
After a scoreless first half, Tom Lowndes put the Wildcats on the scoreboard first with back-to-back penalty kick goals.
Nick Ebmeyer added to the total in the 74th minute on a ball in the box from Odaine Sinclair. Richard Klein closed the game out in the 85th minute after receiving a ball from Tom Lowndes to give BU a 4-0 advantage.
