what others say about Elaine

*From "Volleyball senior team leader, again" by Aaron Wright in The Baker Orange, Sep. 29

"Everyone naturally looks up to her because of her confidence and the way she carries herself while she is out there. Not only does she have the confidence in knowing she can do something, she goes out there and does it." - teammate Meredith Horne

"She has incredible physical skills and her strength is at the top of the team. Not only that, but she has very quick feet and is incredibly intelligent. She knows where the player is going to hit the ball before they have even hit it." - head coach Kathy Allen

"She is graduating and will be very difficult to replace because of all the things that she can do for us. She gives us so many options as to how we can play." - Allen

"To tell you the truth, I had no clue she was this good when I was recruiting her." - Allen

"She could be starting at K-State right now. That is how good she is. Trust me, though, I am glad that she isn't playing there right now." - Allen

*From 2003 Season Outlook on Baker University Volleyball Web site

"She never complains. She is an incredible leader because she leads vocally and by example. She will report in absolutely perfect shape, and she will be the last one to leave practice every day. And despite all of her success, she is very humble. She feels it is her duty to do what she does, and she plays for pure pleasure." - Allen

"She holds the whole team up and pulls us together. Even when she's not doing particularly well she's always telling us we're doing fine." - Horne

"Elaine is absolutely the finest and most unique defensive player I have ever coached. She can pass and dig with precision, and has an uncanny ability to read the hitter's shot. Elaine controls our entire defensive scheme from the middle back position and has earned the respect of the entire conference for her relentless play." - Allen
