King drives in four runs against Kansas
LAWRENCE, Kan. - Senior Kyle King (Tulsa, Okla.) went 2-for-4 against the University of Kansas, driving in four RBIs in the process, incollected four RBIs against the Univerity of Kansas, who defeated the Wildcats 24-7.
King's single in the second inning plated two runs and momentarily gave the Wildcats a 6-4 lead. Altogether, Baker scored five runs in the inning, thanks to two Jayhawk errors.
The lead would slip away after a big inning from the Jayhawks, last year's Big 12 Champion, and the Wildcats would not be able to recover, scoring just once more past the second.
Senior Ben Mejia (Olathe, Kan.) also finished the game 2-for-4 and scored two runs for the Wildcats (5-4).
Baker took a first-inning led, by working home a leadoff hit-by-pitch. Mejia would score on a groundout by King to first base.
The Wildcats return to NAIA play, with a weekend visit to Evangel University. It will be the first conference games for Baker this season.
