Defensive struggles continued for the Wildcats
on the road this weekend against MidAmerica Nazarene University
43-18 in Olathe.
The loss is also the fourth for the Wildcats,
who possed to break into the top 25 after three weeks with a 2-1
record.
Since then things have not gone the Wildcats way.
After receiving 11 votes, the Wildcats have given up an average
of 428 yards of total offense a game.
Today the Pioneers totaled 565 yards of total
offense, with over 400 yards through the air.
The offense did look sharp however, massing 311
yards of total offense. Freshman quarterback Mack Brown, who was
played every snap for the Wildcats this season, 18 of 28 for 185
yards and a touchdown.
The touchdown was set up on a 41-yard halfback
pass from Micah Mason downfield to wideout James Hensley midway
through the fourth quarter.
Mason who again played both ways for the Wildcats
tallied 5.5 tackles.
The Pioneer offense was charged by an effective
first half from quarterback Matt Schneider.
Schneider threw for the bulk of his 383 yards
and four touchdowns all to different wide receivers, and lead
MidAmerica to a 34-7 halftime lead.
Baker (2-5) will have to win out to finish the
season with a .500 record.
The Wildcats return home next weekend to face
Avila University, looking to win their first home game of the
season. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Liston Stadium
