The Baker men's golf team competed against the course and the weather at the Bethel College Spring Invitational, placing 11th as a team.

The Wildcats produced a score of 648 over the two-day, 36-hole tournament. Round one was played Saturday at the Hesston Golf Park in Hesston, Kan., with round two being played at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan.

Leading the way were golfers Michael Kahler and Tanner Christenson who each had a round in the 70s, over the weekend. Kahler finished 21st overall shooting 155, while Christenson finished two strokes behind in tied for 33rd. All together, Baker had seven players finish with scores of 170 or lower.

On Saturday, golfers walked a course saturated with three inches of rain that fell in advance of the tournament. Sunday was much more manageable as a slight breeze and sunny conditions helped Baker manage a more difficult course.

The men compete next April 9-10 in a two-day 54-hole tournament at Alvamar GC in Lawrence, KS. Baker will be the host team.
