Baker University
Welcome, Men's Track & Field Recruits
2005-06 Season

Dear Recruits,

Thank you for taking the time to view our program, a program that I feel privileged and honored to be associated with. Since taking over the program in the fall of 2000, the menšs track & field team has developed into a top tier Heart of America Athletic Conference contender, finishing third at the 2002 and 2003 HAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Along side our teams success, Baker athletes have competed on the national stage an unprecedented number of times since the spring of 2001; 13 different athletes have competed a total of 34 times at the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, culminating in seven top 10 finishes, two Academic All-Americans and one NAIA All-American. In 2004 we had our first athlete every to be ranked # 1 in the NAIA, which I think is a testament to the positive direction our program is headed.

At Baker University, even though team and individual honors are diligently worked towards, the ultimate goal of the program is to nurture physical, psychological, and emotional development of our athletes. We are more interested in the development of talent along side the development of character. Each athlete is focused on how they can contribute to the success of our program, taking an unselfish path to athletic and personal fulfillment.

In conclusion, I welcome your interest in our Baker Wildcats, and sincerely hope you take the opportunity to join our program as we continue to build the foundation of something special. Please come and join us as we reach new heights in 2004 and beyond.

Sincerely,

Coach Mallinder
